Too much to write it all down now anyway. I'll just skip most of it and stick to the main thing for now.
I applied to college.
I haven't been in a regular classroom for over a decade so if I get in this thing, it's going to take some getting used to but I should be able to get myself in to it this time round. I realised that without any papers, I'm never going to get a job I'm going to enjoy doing and I know myself well enough to know I just wouldn't last in a job I didn't enjoy even the slightest bit, so, I'm going to try to finish my education and get the papers I need to be able to get the type of job that I want. I've considered two possible directions. Both thing I enjoy doing a lot and both things I have at least a certain amount of skill in. First one being web design, second one being animal care, primarily wildlife. After looking at the pros and cons of both I've decided to go with animal care. I think the major reason why is because web design classes require a lot of maths and that has always been a weak point for me. I just can not do maths.
So yeah, animal care.
I applied to the Wellant college which is one of the only college's that offer college courses in that direction. Got all the documents I have to fill in yesterday and after I've handed those in I'll get an invitation for an intake, where they decide whether or not they accept me. Obviously I'm a little bit worried because I am a high school drop-out, it's been a long time since I've followed regular schooling and I'm not exactly the youngest person to go to college but I'm hoping I'll be able to convince them of my motivation.
To pay for it all I have to apply for three things:
1. Basic student financing.
2. Achievement scholarship
3. maximum student loan
The first one is no problem. That's just the regular financing everyone can get here. The second one is basically a loan that you have to pay back if you don't graduate. If you do, you can keep it. It's kind of a motivational thing for students to keep doing their best. The third one is just a regular loan specifically designed for students. Interest is very low compared to normal loans (3.5%) and you can take 10 years to pay it off after graduation. The entire amount I'll have to pay back is a little over 4000 euro, which isn't too bad considering the time you get to pay it off. The only difficult part will be my already existing debts. Hopefully I can pay some of those off before graduating. With all three of those, I'll basically get left with the same amount of money I have now, give or take. On top of that, my mom will get 10% more on her income because I'm going to school, so for now, financially it's looking alright. Obviously money will still be tight and it will be for a lot longer than I would've liked but it will benefit me in the end.
So yeah, fingers crossed and all that.
I'm bored of typing now.
Also, I love Lex.
A lot.
